Gun Geeks, LLC is an FFL located in Richardson Texas. We bring you the best and rarest firearms the market has to offer. We proudly present our in house built 1971 Izhmash Russian AKM kit rifle chambered in 7.62×39. The AKM is an assault rifle designed by Soviet small arms designer Mikhail Kalashnikov in 1959. The AKM was developed as the successor to the AK-47 adopted by the Soviet Union a decade prior. Introduced into service to the Soviet Army in 1959, the AKM was the most prevalent variant of the Kalashnikov rifles in the Warsaw Pact. The rifle was produced at the Tula Arms Plant and Izhmash factories in Russia. It was eventually replaced by the AK-74 in 1974. The AKM maintains the AK-47’s wood stock, but has simpler individual parts that are favorable for mass production. Like the AK-47, many variants of the AKM exist such as the AKMS, AKML, and AKMP. The rifle features all matching numbers (gas tube, trunion, bolt, bolt carrier, dust cover, saftey, recoil rod, rear sight) 1971 Russian parts kit, polish chrome lined hammer forged barrel, numbers matching Recreator receiver with Russian selector markings, Russian made laminate forearm/ stock, Russian bakelite grip, original 1970’s dated Russian sling, and cleaning kit (in stock compartment). The rifle is 922R compliant with US made Receiver, trigger, hammer, disconnector, and US made polymer magazine (magazine body, floor plate, and follower) The rifle was built off an original unfired Izhmash parts kit and has only been test fired after the rifle was built. With Russian rifles and parts kits getting rarer each year don’t miss this chance to add a Russian AKM to your collection!Â
